Okavango Collections is the starting point for finding out about knowledge resources related to the Okavango River Basin in Angola, Botswana and Namibia. We have identified and updated relevant sources of information for Okavango River Basin planning. Our aim is to ensure access to reliable and appropriate data. This is a searchable directory of collections of data, data sets, data bases, sets of images, books, reports and other information available both in the region and in other parts of the world. Okavango Collections is powered by GeoNetwork Opensource, a standardised and decentralised spacial information management environment, designed to enable access to geo-reference databases, cartographic products and related metadata from a variety of sources. |
The logo of Okavango Collections is based on the Hambukushu (Mbukushu) storage basket, representing gathering of basin resources for future use. Hambukushu people live in all three countries of the Cubango-Okavango.
