OKACOM’s Biodiversity Task Force (BTF) deals with species and ecosystems in the Cubango-Okavango River system. A decision was made at OKACOM’s annual meeting in Swakopmund in May 2011 for the BTF to develop a consolidated action plan aligned with priorities of OKACOM’s Strategic Action Programme and for interventions and activities related to transboundary fisheries management in the Cubango-Okavango river system.

Following up on this decision, OKACOM in collaboration with SAREP are organizing an invitation based three day workshop in Divundu, Namibia on October 10th to 12th, 2011. The objectives of the workshop are:

  1.  Development of an action plan for OKACOM’s Biodiversity Task Force
  2. Development of an action plan for harmonization of transboundary fisheries management.
