Summary
A Comissão Permanente das Águas da Bacia Hidrográfica do Rio Okavango (OKACOM) foi formulada para orientar os esforços da OKACOM em matéria de igualdade de género em todas as esferas dos programas da OBH. Esta Estratégia reconhece que as políticas, sistemas, processos organizacionais e competências técnicas podem desempenhar um papel significativo no enraizamento de práticas que respondam às questões de género. Prevê-se que as Longo Prazo delineadas na Estratégia irão facilitar e apoiar a transformação de normas, quadros legais e políticas para a igualdade de género na OKACOM, dentro dos Estados da Bacia, bem como nos parceiros locais e internacionais colaboradores. A Estratégia foi informada por amplas consultas com as partes interessadas da Bacia, tais como os governos, os órgãos da OKACOM, as Mecanismos em prol da igualdade de Género, a Unidade de Género da SADC e os principais parceiros de desenvolvimento que estão empenhados em apoiar a visão e o mandato da OKACOM.

Summary
The Permanent Okavango River Basin Water Commission (OKACOM) Gender Mainstreaming Strategy and Implementation Plan has been formulated to guide OKACOM’s efforts on gender equality in all spheres of the RBOs programmes. This Strategy acknowledges that policies, systems, organisational processes and technical competencies can play a significant role in entrenching gender responsive practices. It is anticipated that the measures outlined in the Strategy will facilitate and support the transformation of norms, legal frameworks and policies towards gender equality in OKACOM, within the Basin States as well as the local and international collaborating partners.

The European Union (EU) in support to the implementation of the Strategic Action Plan (SAP) of the Permanent Okavango River Basin Water Commission (OKACOM), endorsed a Programme for Transboundary Water Management in the Cubango-Okavango River Basin in April 2018, designed to be implemented for four years, ending in October, 2021 at cost of EURO 6million.

The project is implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)  and funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) with a total allocated resource of USD 6.1 Million for 4.5 years of the implementation period (November 2017 - March 2022).

Summary
The Multi-Sector Investment Opportunities Analysis (MSIOA) is part of a systematic strategy by OKACOM to assist the Member States to achieve socially just, economically prosperous, and environmentally healthy development of the Cubango-Okavango River Basin. This effort is being pursued through the formulation of a Sustainable and Equitable Climate Resilient Investment Program, which is informed by a long history of cooperation, and the recommendations provided by the OKACOM Transboundary Diagnostic Analysis (TDA) and the Strategic Action Plan (SAP). Building on more than 20 years of research and analysis, the MSIOA was developed through a collaborative cooperation that included scientific analysis; economic, hydrological, and environmental modeling; coupled with stakeholder consultations.
